This was my first time visiting this Meijer. It is very clean. The employees seemed dutiful, and professional. I was there just before the store closed.. They announced closing the store every 10 mins. I started to get anxiety from it.... But other than that it seemed alright.. I never got the chance to see the entirety of the store. I will go back sometime when I'm have more time to shop.

I was really excited for the new downtown Lansing Meijer Market because of all the marketing before opening. They heavily promoted fresh, locally sourced produce from local farmers and growers, making it sound like this store was going to bring high-quality fresh food into downtown Lansing. Unfortunately, the reality has been a huge disappointment. The produce quality has been consistently poor. Fruits and vegetables often look old, bruised, or close to going bad. Iβve also purchased bad salmon there twice, which is unacceptable for a brand-new grocery store that made such a big deal about freshness and quality. The grand opening hype and advertising painted a completely different picture than what customers are actually getting. Instead of a fresh, local market experience, it feels like low-quality produce with very little attention to freshness or quality control. For a downtown store that had so much community excitement behind it, this has been extremely disappointing.

This place is nice but the actual cafe coffee shop should have more than one person staffing it. The line is absolutely horrendous when only one person works the coffee shop and takes literally forever for one barista to make a bunch of drinks. Should be better staffed if you expect to service the amount of ppl with actual quality service. Also irritating when you donβt have someone running the cafe due to being on lunch. Again should have more than one staffer. I end up taking my money half the time down the street to bigby bc the service is slow due to one person staffing. I like the market more but like my time too.

Great store unless you are a black shopper who likes toTake your time shopping. I have lived close to the store for 2 years and it has been my go to grocery store. Occasionally Iβm followed through the store by secret shoppers. Stopped and asked for a receipt and had my cart stopped more than once. I have never stolen anything, come to the store multiple times, even done liquor promos there and still get profiled. Other than that great set ups and good deals. But they really need to do better. Iβve seen it happen to others also.
